Local Moves

Charlottesville Moving Solutions, formerly Student Services Moving and Storage Company, has been providing local moving services to the Charlottesville area for over five decades.

Our rates are simple. Local moves are calculated hourly for the number of movers and the truck. We account for these hours from the time the movers leave our office until they return. While there are extra charges for oversized items, such as pianos, pool tables, or hot tubs, rest assured that we can move practically anything. During certain busy times, we do charge fixed rates for local moves. That charge would be pre-determined by a Charlottesville Moving Solutions representative before your move date. We shrinkwrap your upholstered furniture and protect your floors with neoprene floor protectors at no additional charge.

Long Distance Moves

Charlottesville Moving Solutions offers exclusive use of our vehicles and direct delivery to your new home seven days a week. Your belongings are the only items on the truck, and the movers that load your belongings will be the same crew that unloads the items at your new home. It also means that you will have guaranteed pickup and delivery dates. That translates to a seamless move for you and your family. We eliminate the need for you to wait for the moving truck or wonder where your goods are, ensuring no risk of commingling shipments or losing your belongings. Since we don’t combine shipments, we give fixed prices on our distance moves. That means no surprises when the bill arrives.

Climate-Controlled Storage

Charlottesville Moving Solutions offers storage for our customers who require a delay between pickup and delivery of their goods. Whether you live in a large home or are a student living on campus in a dorm or off campus in an apartment, we can store your items until you’re ready and deliver with just a phone call. Your belongings receive extra special care, as they are carefully wrapped and stored in our state-of-the-art, climate-controlled warehouse. Your upholstered furniture will be shrink-wrapped and placed on sofa racks to avoid damage to the fabric. All items are inventoried and separated from other shipments to ensure that your belongings are kept separate and secure.

Summer Storage for Students
