Today, we’re answering some common questions about downsizing to help you feel the most prepared and comfortable about your upcoming transition.

What does the process look like?

First, you’ll reach out and request an estimate! Depending on your situation, it may help to do a virtual or in-person walk-through with our team to evaluate your space and number of belongings. Once we have an accurate inventory, whether that’d provided by you or something we help with, we’ll send over a custom estimate and arrange a date for the move that works best for you. 

On the day of the move, we can help with anything that still needs to be packed. We just ask that you inform us ahead of time so that we can plan accordingly. We will carefully pack your items into our trucks, and once the space is empty, our experienced drivers will head to your new address.

Upon arrival, we will unpack the truck and arrange everything in your new space in your preferred style before heading back to our headquarters.

Do you help with sorting and organizing?

While we have plenty of experience with packing, sorting and organizing are things we hand off to local partners. We have connections in the organizing business and are happy to recommend and collaborate with them in your home. It matters to us that you receive the support you need when it comes to your move!

Can you drop off the things I want to donate or throw away?

Absolutely! In the process of downsizing, there is often a lot to sort through while deciding what to keep and get rid of. We can help you pack all your donation items and will drop them off so they can find a new life with someone who can use them.

Will you help arrange everything in the new space?

Yes! Arranging your furniture in your new space is always part of our moving service unless otherwise requested. Especially for seniors, it’s our priority to make sure your new space is easily navigable and your furniture placed where it makes the most sense, so that you don’t have to worry about adjusting things on your own later. Our senior clients are often moving into smaller spaces, so it can be a process to figure out the best way to organize everything, and we’re committed to seeing it through!

What is the cost of a downsizing and relocation moving service?

Since no home is truly alike, our packages are fully customized to your unique situation. However, to ease your mind and give you as much information as possible, we do provide free estimates and are happy to do a virtual or in-person walk through to help you capture the most accurate picture of your move.
