Our Favorite Grab & Go Restaurants in Charlottesville for Moving Day

We would guess that the last thing you want to do after a long day of packing, moving or unpacking is cook a meal. You’re settling into a new space, all your things are in boxes, and it’s been a busy day.

Fortunately, Charlottesville has lots of amazing grab and go restaurants!

We’ve compiled a list of our favorite spots in Charlottesville for quick, easy, and delicious meals. 

Breakfast/Brunch

Breakfast at Petite MarieBette

  • Bodo's Bagels is a longtime, local favorite serving freshly baked NY bagels, sandwiches, and salads. They have several locations around town, so there’s probably one a short drive from your new home!

    • Route 29: 1418 Emmet Street

    • Downtown: 505 Preston Avenue

    • The Corner: 1609 University Avenue

  • Belle in Belmont is a great spot for fresh-baked bread, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee. If you’re in the neighborhood and need a break from unpacking, they have the perfect outdoor patio for mimosa-sipping during their Sunday brunch!

  • MarieBette and Petite MarieBette (their “little sister” location) is another local favorite which offers breakfast, brunch, lunch, and coffee seven days a week.This is a great spot to grab coffee, fresh bread, delicious pastries and other treats to stock your new kitchen! 

    • MarieBette Café & Bakery: 700 Rose Hill Drive

    • Petite MarieBette: 105 E Water Street

Lunch/Dinner

Sweet & Sour Spicy Noodles at Marco & Luca

  • Marco & Luca is a great place to go if you’re in the mood for dumplings, buns, noodles, soups or chicken curry. They also have several locations. 

    • Downtown Mall: 112 W Main Street

    • Seminole Square Shopping Center: 176 Zan Road

    • The Corner: 107 Elliewood Avenue

  • Foods of All Nations is a specialty grocery store with a great prepared food section, and they’re open daily. Their in-house cafe is another great spot to grab a coffee and pastry! 

  • The Market at Bellair has some of the best grab-and-go sandwiches in town! They’re a local favorite for lunch, and if you’re on a tight schedule, they’re a quick and easy stop.

  • Roots Natural Kitchen is a great option if you’re looking for quick and healthy meal. Their salads and grain bowls are delicious! 

  • Take it Away is another Charlottesville-area classic, serving delicious sandwiches. You can visit their original location on the Corner, or stop by their stall at the Dairy Market. Local Tip: Buy a bottle of their renowned House Dressing to take home with you. You won’t regret it!

  • You might not have Wegmans on your radar, but if you’re not sure exactly what you’re craving, they have a great prepared food selection, including sushi, sandwiches, and heat-and-serve dishes. Plus, you can grab some groceries to stock your empty fridge while you’re there!

  • Brazo's Tacos makes the best tacos in town—and they even do breakfast tacos! If you’re too tired to leave the house after moving day, you can easily order delivery online from either their Downtown or Barracks Road location.

  • If you’ve just moved to Crozet, you can’t go wrong with a pie from Crozet Pizza. They’re a local family favorite that’s been open since 1977!

  • Dr. Ho’s Humble Pie is another great option if you’re in the mood for pizza. Another local tip: Buy a jar of their homemade ranch dressing while you're there. You won’t be able to eat pizza crust without it again!

  • Finally, if pasta is more your style, you need to try Luce. Their pasta is made in-house, and they serve a handful of other famous menu items like their kale salad and cheesecake. It’s easy to order online and pick up your meal! They recommend parking in one of the designated to-go spots in front of their shop or snagging parking in the lot behind their mural.
