Moving to Charlottesville in 2023? Here Are Some of our Favorite Area Activities

We love introducing our clients to the Charlottesville area, and we thought it would be fun to focus our first blog of 2023 on some of our favorite activities in the area. Charlottesville has so much to offer…it’s hard to know where to start!

There are over 40 wineries in the Charlottesville area! Our wineries are great spots to relax outside and enjoy gorgeous mountain views with friends and family. Many wineries serve food, host food trucks, or allow you to bring your food to enjoy. Chances are that no matter where you’re moving in the Charlottesville area, there’s a local winery nearby!

Charlottesville is also home to some great activities for art and music lovers, with several concert venues, performing art spaces, galleries, and art museums. Ix Art Park is a neat place to explore, and it’s home to Virginia’s first immersive art space, The Looking Glass.

Outdoor enthusiasts moving to Charlottesville will love living minutes from Shenandoah National Park! There are countless hiking and biking trails in the Charlottesville area, but one of our favorites is the Saunders-Monticello Trail. This four-mile path has excellent mountain views and leads to Thomas Jefferson’s home, Monticello.

Last but certainly not least, you don’t want to miss out on experiencing the food scene in Charlottesville. There is a fantastic variety of cuisines to enjoy throughout the city! One of the newer food spots we love exploring is Dairy Market, an indoor market hall concept with food vendors, a brewery, an ice cream shop, and more. You can keep up to date with happenings in the city’s food scene by following Instagram accounts like @cville.foodie!

When we’re onsite for your move, feel free to ask our team members what their favorite Charlottesville spots are…We’d love to share favorites with you and help you get to know the area! Visitcharlottesville.org is another great resource for new residents!
