However, with graduation comes less glamorous events like moving out of your dorm or apartment.

First, there are a few move-out musts that are easy to forget in the rush and chaos of graduation month. Cover your bases and save the following list for later!
Cancel your gym and fitness studio memberships! We’ve all heard stories of gyms making it complicated for members to cancel their membership, so check it off your list before you leave Charlottesville.
Request a change of address form from USPS to make sure your mail gets forwarded to your new home.
Update your insurance policies, especially if you have renter’s insurance.
Change your prescription to a pharmacy close to your new location.
Update your address on any e-commerce sites you use to make sure your packages don’t end up at your old apartment or dorm.

Traveling over the summer? We can pick up your furniture when you graduate in May, store it for you while you travel, and then deliver it directly to your new home when you return. Plus, if you have a job lined up for the fall, many employers are willing to pay for your storage, and we can bill them directly on your behalf.

Relocation Billing Directly to Your New Employer
As a new grad, you’ve got enough on your plate. The last thing you need to worry about is communication between your employer and the moving company. We’ve billed many Fortune 500 companies, national and local law firms, universities, and hospitals, and we can bill most employers that recruit at UVA. You can ask your recruitment coordinator to contact CMS, and we will handle all the billing arrangements directly.
